This is one of the smallest national parks in Tanzania with just 35 km2 accessible only by boat in Kigoma region. The park is famously known for its unique population of chimpanzees, it is also a research center. The chimpanzees are accompanied by other species of monkeys such as blue monkey, there are also hippos in the Lake Tanganyika that encompasses the park.
