Overview

Lake Eyasi is found at the southwestern edge of the Ngorongoro Highlands in the Rift Valley. It is a vast, shallow seasonal salt lake, renowned for the unique people and cultures residing near it. The area is mainly home to two tribes: the Hadzabe, well known for their traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle, and the Datoga, famous for their blacksmithing, tool-making, and cattle herding.

Depart Arusha early and drive through the scenic Rift Valley, passing traditional villages, farmland, and rolling hills.
